Travelski, a subsidiary of Compagnie des Alpes, will begin offering a night train from Amsterdam, through Brussels, to the French Alps starting this December. This is in addition to the service launched last ski season in December 2025 that went from Paris - Gare de Lyon to Moûtiers, Aime and Bourg-Saint-Maurice.

Starting Friday, 18 December 2026, Travelski will run a train from Amsterdam Centraal to Bourg-Saint-Maurice. The trail will travel through Rotterdam Centraal, Antwerpen Centraal, Brussels Zuid, Moûtiers and Aime-la-Plagne along the way. The departure from Amsterdam is scheduled to be at 18:00, according to the booking details on the Travelski site, with an arrival at 08:30 in Bourg-Saint-Maurice, giving a total travel time of 14 hours and 30 minutes. Currently, a one-way ticket for a single adult goes for 168 euros.

The return trips are scheduled on Saturdays at 21:00 in Bourg-Saint-Maurice with arrival in Amsterdam at 11:00, totalling 14 hours of travel. This means if you plan on booking a return with Travelski, you have to account for an entire week of skiing at the resorts. The outbound trips will run until 26 March 2027, adding up to 15 total trips.

This new route will build on the existing ski service between Paris - Gare de Lyon and Bourg-Saint-Maurice. These trains also depart on Friday, starting on 18 December 2026, at 22:52 and arriving in Bourg-Saint-Maurice at 08:09. The total travel time here is 9 hours and 17 minutes.

Compagnie des Alpes, in a press release, stated that last season this service achieved occupancy rates as high as 85% and punctuality of 95%. The service looked like it used one to two Class BB 75000 diesel locomotives last season, according to a review by Levente Koroes. This time around, Compagnie des Alpes is committing to a fully electric locomotive. The train operations will be run by Pegaus Trains, which provides a “turnkey solution for European tour operators”.

Trains departing from Amsterdam will have 400 berths, and trains departing from Paris will have 600. The trains will also include a restaurant car, as they did last season. So far, I have not been able to find details on the exact locomotive or carriages that will be used.

Travelski is not alone in covering the route from Amsterdam to Bourg-Saint-Maurice; Eurostar Snow also provides trains on this route during the winter. Instead of travelling overnight, the Eurostar Snow departs early on Saturday morning from Amsterdam, arriving in the afternoon at Bourg-Saint-Maurice. Return trips start on Saturday afternoon or Sunday morning, arriving at Amsterdam in the evening. The travel time each way is roughly 9 hours. The specifics of this season’s trips will be announced later in the summary by Eurostar according to mobilithib.

It’s good to see some competition and options on this route.
